Monday's Greatest Enemy

It's Monday... and your greatest enemy at this stage doesn't really seem to be motivation.

No, that's typically saved for Wednesday-Friday.

Everyone's ready for a new opportunity to start their week right and make some changes, or some more progress.

So what's the biggest threat to you this Monday then?

ANALYSIS PARALYSIS

On Monday we're hit with a natural high of motivation and what normally follows is us conceiving of and planning out EVERYTHING WE NEED TO DO THIS WEEK TO FINALLY CHANGE OUR LIVES.

There's so much noise...

"I'm gonna hit the gym HARD. 5 times this week minimum! 
I'll come up with a new program. 
No chocolate this week. 
I'll try that new meal plan I've been thinking about. 
I should meditate. 
Yoga? That's a good thing, right?
I'll get out of bed SUPER EARLY and walk too, every morning, no, morning and night. 
Where's my fitbit? I'll track my steps. 
And a new water bottle, I NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH WATER I AM DRINKING. 
Oh, I'll walk the dog too.
WHAT IF I'M NOT HYDRATED ENOUGH?!
Time to make this week mine!"

I hope that was as painful to read as it was to write.

Never really are we just focused on the 1-2 big things that would actually drive us forward.

We get caught in the details.

When there's so much to do, it can seem insurmountable, an impossible task.

And when it seems an impossible task, it's VERY EASY to let it get the better of you, and keep on with some of those habits that you know could be very well killing you.

So how do you avoid that this week? How do you conquer the Monday Analysis Paralysis Enemy?!

Well, let's focus on what's called the Big Domino.

It's a concept Tim Ferris (look him up if you don't know who he is) talks about.

What is the one action that you need to take right now in the area you are looking to improve?

The action, if you were successful in carrying it out that would have a subsequent cascading effect once done.

For you, on this fine Monday, it may just be getting to a gym session.

Going for a walk or run.

Going grocery shopping so there's healthy food in the house.

Spending time working on yourself in some way, shape or form.

But by no stretch of the imagination must it be all of them.

Focus on one thing at a time, and the rest will flow.
